Emergency Medical Services

The purpose of Emergency Medical Services is to provide workers with prompt, easily accessible and appropriate medical aid and to keep records of each treatment.

The role of the Emergency Medical Services Attendant is to:

  • Promptly provide workers with a level of care within the scope of practice that the attendant's training and the regulations in effect within the province or territory in which the work is being performed
  • Positively affect the outcome of work related illnesses and injuries that occur on the job
  • Objectively record observed or reported signs and symptoms of injuries and illnesses
  • Refer to medical attention injuries and illnesses recognized as being serious or beyond the scope of the attendants training

Workers in hazardous occupations or in remote areas face multiple dangers. Simply by being in a remote location, access to needed medical care can be much more difficult and time consuming. Minutes and hours after a serious accident are critical and may mean the difference between life and death. SAFE-TEE MANAGEMENT’S Emergency Medical Services provide cost effective solutions through quality emergency care and patient transport requirements.

All personnel and equipment meet or exceed regulatory standards for every Canadian province or territory.

Personnel

Depending upon the requirements of the worksite, fully qualified Emergency Medical Services Personnel include:

  • Paramedics
  • Emergency Medical Responders
  • Emergency Medical Technicians
  • Emergency Medical Technicians-Advanced (IV Therapy, Cardiac Monitoring, D50W Administration, MAST Pants)
  • British Columbia, WCB Certified, Level 3 Occupational First Aid Attendants
  • Registered Nurses

Equipment

The Mobile Treatment Center provides a stable, comfortable treatment environment, complete with Medical equipment that is, at all times, near the workers to provide fast response and safe transportation.

  • 4 Wheel Drive
  • Cellular Phone
  • Climate controlled patient compartment
  • Fracture immobilization
  • Burn treatment management
  • 2 patient capability plus attendant
  • Airway management, oxygen administration
